You probably won't want to make Toshiba Qosmio DX730 Display big song and dance about it whenever anyone comes round, but you won't feel you have to hide it away in a dusty old study either. The surround is entirely black plastic -- pretty much par for the course -- but the three-point base looks sleek enough to be considered attractive.

It might not be as slim as this year's best TVs, but it's pretty impressive that there's Toshiba Qosmio DX730 Display PC in there too. With a inch display, it's hardly small, so don't expect it to sit quietly out of the way, but it's a good size to act as a secondary screen in your living room, and it's ideal as a media machine in a student's bedroom. The whole multimedia aim of the DX is in direct conflict with it being a touch screen — watching movies on a high-gloss, fingerprint laden screen isn't exactly pleasant, with dark scenes highlighting the shortcomings of such an amalgamation. Throw in the fact that it's a TN panel, and you've got less Toshiba Qosmio DX730 Display optimal viewing angles as well. The touch isn't spectacular either: This isn't specifically a Toshiba issue, but a limitation of the technology.

The Windows touch experience remains lacklustre at best too — while Toshiba's bundled Microsoft's Touch Pack for Windows 7, like most Windows touch software it only highlights the novelty and shortcomings of the platform. In the name of keeping things beautiful Toshiba Qosmio DX730 Display definitely not functional, outside of the power button, Toshiba's put its control buttons for the Qosmio on the left hand side rather than on the front.

We've lambasted monitor manufacturers for this, and the same ideal applies here: If you must hide the buttons away, at least put labels on the front to keep them Toshiba Qosmio DX730 Display.

Ergonomics aside, there's buttons to switch between video inputs, volume and brightness controls.
