It is very unusual that your system will not work properly with Nero, but works fine with Roxio. At the sametime burns CDs well.
I asked Nero, but still awaiting answer. I contacted Sony and got the answer it is softaware problem because Pioneer works with other programs. It is unusual but I prefere Nero to Roxio and I am very interested ti fix the problem.
I completely understand your preference. As I said earlier in the thread, the only time I have seen this type of issue, it was cleared up by a firmware update.
Even though the optical drive works with other programs, that does not mean that Nero can as there is an obvious problem. Pioneer DVR-110D ODD only guess in my drive is that the algorithm designated to revving up the drive is flawed in some way.
Pioneer DVR-110D ODD can write at 4x because the drive does not need to spin as fast, but when it to write at x the drive does not want to rev up. Anyway, I hope this helps you out with your drive problem.

See, I am hoping that with all the trouble I have had, a Mac Mini will be more stable and in the end, somehow, till I get my new Powerbook, make me happy.

What makes me angry though is Apples, lack of realizing their Pioneer DVR-110D ODD in not officially announcing the new version of the Mac Mini's. I mean if I pay top dollars for the Mini, should I not be offered the same Mac Mini as those who get the new and upgraded version?
I mean this is the kind of lottery I don't like Sorry for trailing off the track here.
