The picture below shows the expansion card installed. Now all I need to find is an antenna for the card since performance is abysmal without WiFi antennas.

The mSATA slot is probably even more useful. These are the two stacked red SATA ports in the center. This is a nice addition which allows easy hot plug on a different controller. Conclusion So far, my experience with Asus Z77 boards has been excellent.

I am very happy with the board and can highly recommend it to anyone planning a new system. While gaming is not of primary concern to me, the Maximus V Gene is incredible capable on that front as well and ranks as the fastest Z77 board tested yet in benchmark tests. For my workstation-oriented tasks, it is still an excellent fit.

If you want to see more pictures of the board, take a look at my unboxing of the Asus Maximus V Gene. Most of my tinkering really centers around moving storage devices in and out of the system. I have almost narrowed down the case and other components and will be writing about the finished system soon.

Currently, I am using the Maximus V Gene sitting Asus P8B WS ASMedia USB 3.0 top of my desk. To his credit he exchanged my mobo anyway but he told me that it was not the cause of my problem. The mobo is resting on the mobo box, its not in a case, factory cpu cooler for testing, and the same Ares rams I really do not understand what is going on.

Any help would be great. If none of that helps, I would likely exchange it for a new board and try the new PSU on it only.

Tested on and bios. I load XMP profile 2T 1. I mailed Gareth and Jake from Corsair to see if they can reproduce the bug.

Can't test the sticks on the GB board as that one refuses to post: Reduce the CPU or memory overclock and see if it persists. Just set it manually instead and see if it works.
